Kangana Ranaut Shares ‘Need To Normalise Obsessive Work Culture’; Actress Says, ‘We Can't Afford To Be Bored And Lazy’
Actress and filmmaker Kangana Ranaut recently made the headlines after she was slapped by a CISF officer for her previous statements on the farmers' protests. The newly elected BJP MP from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, was on her way to Delhi at the time. Having attended the ceremony on Sunday at the Rastrapati Bhavan, Delhi, she recently commented on how ‘obsessive work culture’ needs to be normalised as our country is still developing. She further explained that constant waiting for the weekend to roll around is a ‘Western’ concept.

On Tuesday, the 37-year-old actress-turned-politician took to her official social media handle to share her two cents on the topic. Taking to her Instagram handle, she reacted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address at the PMO in Delhi. He had explained how they aren’t the people who work in an office-bound by time. Quoted by the Free Press Journal, he stated in Hindi, “We are not those people for whom office starts at this time and ends at this time. We are not those people, we are not bound by time, we have no limits to our thinking, and we have no criteria for our efforts.” ALSO READ: Reasi Bus Terror Attack: Kangana Ranaut, Riteish Deshmukh, Others Condemn ‘The Cowardly Terrorist Attack’ On Pilgrims As Horrific Visuals Go VIRAL

Sharing the video snippet on her Instagram stories, Ranaut wrote, “We need to normalise obsessive work culture and stop with the waiting for weekends and crib about Mondays memes. That's all western brainwashing... we are not a developed nation yet... we can't afford to be bored and lazy at all.” ALSO READ: Kangana Ranaut Slap Controversy: Actress’ Support Of Will Smith For Slapping Chris Rock At Oscars Resurfaces; Netizens Say, ‘Hypocrisy Ki Seema’

On the work front, Kangana Ranaut was last seen in Tejas. The movie failed to impress the audience as well as the critics and it tanked at the box office. She will be next seen in Emergency. Not only is the movie her first solo directorial, but she will also be essaying the role of India’s late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The release date of the movie is yet to be announced as it was postponed due to her political commitments. Apart from that, she also has a few other projects in her pipeline.
